Section V: Military Occupational Specialty
Military Occupational Specialties (MOS) are titles earned that categorize members based on their position or skill set within a squad. A member's MOS is identifiable by the final number of their service tag.
MOS 1: Squad Leader
The Squad leader is in charge of the smallest element of troops within the branches of the military, which in the Marine Corps consists of 10-20 Marines. The SL is a trained staff member and is either a Sergeant or Staff Sergeant.
MOS 2: Assistant SL
The Assistant Squad Leader is usually a corporal, and provides guidance to the SL. The ASL acts as the SL when they are not present, and is responsible for helping the SL maintain the efficiency of the squad.
MOS 3: Rifleman
The rifleman is a basically trained member of the squad, and is capable of handling a variety of small arms mostly including the Assault Rifle, Magnum, and Battle Rifle.
MOS 4: Automatic Rifleman
The automatic rifleman is a member in the squad that is capable of handling the Squad Automatic Weapon or the "SAW" for short. The automatic rifleman will take priority if a SAW is on the map.
MOS 5: Ground Vehicle Specialist
The Ground Vehicle Specialist is capable of operating most ground vehicles, varying from warthogs to scorpions. The GVS gets priority if possible for ground vehicles during combat situations.
MOS 6: Air Vehicle Specialist
The Air Vehicle Specialist is a trained and qualified pilot of both the Wasp and Banshee, which are used as support vehicles during most combat operations. Those with the AVS MOS may also serve in naval based/air combat situations against enemy aircraft and naval vessels.
MOS 7: Marksman
The Marksman is a specialized Marine trained in using weaponry such as the Sniper Rifle or DMR in combat environments. If a Sniper Rifle is not readily available due to another marksman being assigned it the DMR wielding marksman will fill the role of a spotter, spotting targets that the sniper may not be able to spot. The marksman gets priority if a DMR or Sniper is available on the map.
MOS 8: Heavy Weapons Specialist
The Heavy Weapons Specialist is a specialized Marine trained in using heavy weaponry such as rocket launchers, the rail gun, hydra, and many other assortment of weaponry. The HWS will take priority if a heavy weapon is available on the map.
